The Story Behind the Flower

What began as a passion project six years ago has blossomed into one of the most beloved sunflower destinations in the region! The Suns Flower was created by Craig and Carmella Turnow as a fun summer hobby, building on the long-standing agricultural roots of Turnow Ventures, which has been proudly farming sunflowers for several years.

We were inspired by the constant stream of visitors and the incredible interest our sunflower fields generated. We are incredibly proud of the growth we’ve experienced and the overwhelming support we’ve received from our local community.

Very beautiful and unique. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the photo walk opportunities. The tractor ride is included in admission and was relaxing as we immersed ourselves in the sunflowers. They do accept cash and card for admission. There is a you pick sunflower area, each sunflower is $1 or $10 dollars for a mason jar full of them. They do sell some merchandise at the front.

INCREDIBLE, BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL!! I mean come on how lovely is this sunflower field?! It’s a little an hour away from our place and it’s worth the drive. I love their Photo Opt and their ginormous sunflowers. We enjoyed walking the sunflower field with my family. We can’t wait to visit again next year!

I had the most wonderful experience visiting The Suns Flower Farm today! 🌻 The moment you step in, you can feel the love and thoughtfulness that went into creating this beautiful place. The farm has built multiple viewing platforms so visitors can get the perfect angle for photos, and to my surprise, there’s even a real piano placed right in the middle of the sunflower field! It adds such a romantic and magical touch to the golden sea of flowers. 🎹✨

They’ve also designed a charming “photo path” through the field, making every step feel like walking through a postcard. The scale is breathtaking – endless rows of sunflowers under the summer sky – and yet the entrance fee is only $5 per person. For such beauty and effort, this is an absolute bargain.

This is truly a hidden gem in Ohio – warm, welcoming, and unforgettable. Highly recommended for families, couples, photographers, and anyone who loves nature. I can’t wait to visit again next year! 💛

It’s a personal tradition of mine to stop out at least once a year. The sunflowers are beautiful!! The owners put lots of time and money into the field and creating a scene to hangout at. The owners are very friendly one of them noticed i had a handicap placard and offered me a spot close to the entrance. Although I did not use to it, I greatly appreciate them paying attention to detail.

Very nice people and a really beautiful experience. $5 per person (except for young kids - they get in free) to enter the field, which offers many opportunities to take photos, a scenic ride around a different part of the field which allows you to see sunflowers for miles, and a pick-your-own area. It's one thing to look at photos, but it's another thing to be there standing among the tall, bright flowers.
The pick-your-own sunflowers are $10 for a mason jar full of sunflowers (~6 flowers). They provide the jar, clippers to cut the sunflowers with, and packets of flower food to put in your flowers' water.
Once you wrap back around to the entrance, the owners are so friendly and ask about your time. They have jars of honey (super good by the way, I bought a jar) and t-shirts to purchase, and probably a couple other little things I didn't see.
I would love to come here again before I leave for college, and I'll probably visit here at least once a year in the future. Support a local family and stop by, you won't regret it!
Please see attached photos for pictures of the field, some of the photo areas, and more.
Fun fact: they have 56 acres of sunflowers, and they harvest the sunflower seeds and send them off to Georgia 🙂
